Every Thursday evening, Ipswich Youth Hub is open for young people in school years 7–11.
It’s one big, flexible space where you can grab a pool cue, start a table football match, put something on the TV, play games or claim a comfy seat with your friends.
There isn’t a packed timetable or any pressure to keep busy. Our youth workers might set up a challenge, competition or activity, but you decide how involved you want to be. Come for the games, come to see your mates or simply come because you want somewhere to go.
What’s the Youth Hub like?
Open, relaxed and built for hanging out.
Everything happens in one large social space, with:
- Pool and table football
- TV and games
- Comfy places to sit
- Space for group activities
- Youth workers who will get to know you
It’s easy to drop into whatever is happening – or find a seat and do your own thing.
Coming for the first time?
You can arrive with friends or come on your own. Our youth workers will welcome you and help you settle in.
They run every session, make sure the hub remains safe and welcoming, and are there if you need a chat or a bit of support. You don’t need to book, bring anything or be good at making conversation. Just turn up.

Can you help me make friends?
We’re all about creating opportunities for young people to create lasting friendships. Our social activities are designed to do just that! From fast-paced game tournaments to cooking workshops, there’s always something to get stuck into.

Do I need to pay to attend?
No, Social Space and drop-in sessions are free to attend

Do you need to book or register in advance?
Yes and No…
Open access and drop-in sessions
Sessions advertised as drop-in or outreach sessions do not require pre-booking or registration. These are open sessions, open to all young people in the community. When young people arrive for the first time, our youth workers will collect basic details in order to keep them safe during their first visit. They will then be given a letter for their parents or guardians and a link to a consent form. The consent form will then need to be completed by a parent or guardian before they return for their second visit.
Social Space and sessions for over 16s
We will ask you to complete a registration form when you come to your first session.
Other activities
Some activities may need pre-booking, such as some of our holiday programmes. This helps us to plan and ensure we have adequate resources for these sessions. Activities which require pre-booking will be listed on eequ.org/youthwork
