IpswichYouth and Community Work

Inspire’s Ipswich Youth & Community Work team are based in Lindbergh Road, Ipswich

We provide safe spaces for young people, engage young people in the community, as well as supporting children and young peoples’ development – be it educational, physical, emotional, or social.

This means providing young people with a place to relax, play games, meet up with friends, make new friends, and develop skills. As well as sports activities for children and young people to take part in.

Children and young people can chat with youth workers during sessions, as well as engaging in mentoring and coaching in schools.

On a weekly basis, Youth Workers are out and about in the local community engaging with young people and providing support and advice to those in need.

Frequently asked questions

  • Can you help me make friends?

We’re all about creating opportunities for young people to create lasting friendships. Our social activities are designed to do just that! From fast-paced game tournaments to cooking workshops, there’s always something to get stuck into.

  • Do I need to pay to attend?

No, Social Space and drop-in sessions are free to attend

  • Do you need to book or register in advance?

    Yes and No…

    Open access and drop-in sessions

Sessions advertised as drop-in or outreach sessions do not require pre-booking or registration. These are open sessions, open to all young people in the community. When young people arrive for the first time, our youth workers will collect basic details in order to keep them safe during their first visit. They will then be given a letter for their parents or guardians and a link to a consent form. The consent form will then need to be completed by a parent or guardian before they return for their second visit.

Social Space and sessions for over 16s

We will ask you to complete a registration form when you come to your first session.

    Other activities

Some activities may need pre-booking, such as some of our holiday programmes. This helps us to plan and ensure we have adequate resources for these sessions. Activities which require pre-booking will be listed on eequ.org/youthwork
