Lowestoft Youth and Community Work

Inspire’s Lowestoft Youth & Community Work team are based in Colville House, Lowestoft.

We provide safe spaces for young people and young adults, engage young people in the community, as well as supporting all aspects of their wellbeing – be it mental, physical, emotional, or social.

This means providing young people with a place to relax, play games, meet up with friends, make new friends, and develop skills.

Young people can chat with youth workers one to one and receive advice and guidance.

On a weekly basis, Youth Workers are out and about in the local community engaging with young people and providing support and advice to those in need.

Programmes we run in Lowestoft include:

Drop-in: An evening for young people 11-16, starting from 9th May 2025.

Social Space: A place for young adults between the ages of 16-25 to meet up every Thursday.

Detached Youth Work: We work within the community to engage young people to help them to grow personally and socially through conversations about their needs, interests & challenges

SportPlus: Personal development and sport sessions for young people

  • Do I need to pay to attend?

No, Social Space and drop-in sessions are free to attend

    Open access and drop-in sessions

Sessions advertised as drop-in or outreach sessions do not require pre-booking or registration. These are open sessions, open to all young people in the community. When young people arrive for the first time, our youth workers will collect basic details in order to keep them safe during their first visit. They will then be given a letter for their parents or guardians and a link to a consent form. The consent form will then need to be completed by a parent or guardian before they return for their second visit.

Social Space and sessions for over 16s

We will ask you to complete a registration form when you come to your first session.

    Other activities

Some activities may need pre-booking, such as some of our holiday programmes. This helps us to plan and ensure we have adequate resources for these sessions. Activities which require pre-booking will be listed on eequ.org/youthwork
