Last night we hosted our very own We’re a Knockout Charity Challenge inspired by hit TV show ‘It’s a Knockout’. Over 17 local businesses and members of the community helped us raise over £2000 by taking on the knockout of a challenge!
A range of local businesses and members of the local community took on the fun challenge in aid of Inspire to try and top the leader board. The teams of ten took on giant inflatables, obstacles costumes and props raising money to support the work of the local education charity. People were also able to enjoy a delicious BBQ as well as other fundraising games that spectators could take part in.
Lots of local businesses including Fred Olsen Travel, Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, Opus People Solutions, Scrutton Bland, Barnes Construction, Paddy and Scotts, Source One, Muntons, Stoke by Nayland Hotel, Golf & Spa, East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust, Birketts and Boxford Farms tried their best to top the leader board but there could only be one winner with that being team ‘Ship Happens’ from Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines being the overall winners.
Sara Warburton, Fundraising and Events Officer at Inspire says: We’re a Knockout is a new fundraising event for us and I’m overwhelmed with the support we have received from local businesses taking part and competing against each other. So much fun was had by all involved and we are sure to be making this an annual event.
Fundraising events are extremely important to the local education charity as just £2,500 will allow 15 young people to attend a 4-day residential trip facing a variety of challenges, developing confidence, self-esteem and teamwork.
Paul Lowes Managing Director from Opus Peoples Solutions says: We were delighted to be a part of Inspire’s ‘We’re a Knockout’ team challenge. As our charity of the year, we are keen to be involved as much as possible and this was a well organised evening! It was a lot of fun, great for team building and it was good to see so many local businesses taking part.
