We’re the sold out Twilight 10K charity!

25 March 2019

We are delighted to have been chosen as the official charity partner for this year’s sold out Ipswich Twilight 10k Race on Friday 26 July, which is being held for the fifth consecutive year in association with Ipswich Building Society, Ipswich Jaffa Running Club and Ipswich Borough Council.

We have 10 charity spaces up for grabs for runners who commit to fundraising for our charity, which supports local young people to overcome challenges onto a positive future and running a range of sports activities across the country.

Runners who decide to run for us will receive dedicated support from our fundraising team and a charity t-shirt. We are asking runners to raise a minimum of £150 and are also welcoming businesses to get involved in the challenge too.

Find out why should you support Inspire!

The 10k race is a mass participation run to beat the sunset, open to runners of all levels and abilities. The Twilight Road Races enjoyed a successful launch in 2015, and last year saw the most popular race to date with over 1,500 runners signing up.

A change in format for this year means the race will start and finish at Ipswich Town Football Club’s home in Portman Road on a new route which takes runners past iconic Ipswich landmarks such as the Willis Building and the Town Hall.

Richard Norrington, Chief Executive at Ipswich Building Society, commented: “We are delighted to choose Inspire as the charity partner for this year’s Twilight 10k. They are a perfect fit for our event and their help and support in previous years has been invaluable. However, I’m pleased that we are able to offer free race places to each of the other charities that applied so they still have an opportunity to participate and fundraise for a good cause.”

Sara Warburton, Events and Fundraising Officer at Inspire, commented:

“We’re really pleased to have been chosen again as the charity partner for this fantastic event – we’re keen to promote fitness and wellbeing for young people from all walks of life, and the Twilight 10k is the perfect way to do that. We’re really looking forward to raising lots of funds to support Inspire’s lifechanging work with local young people.”

Runners who are interested in running in the sold-out Twilight 10K for Inspire should get in touch with our Fundraising & Events Officer, Sara Warburton on saraw@inspiresuffolk.org.uk or 01473 353 194 to register their interest.
