A team of 18 climbers have completed the National Three Peaks Challenge in memory of Joe Langfield, coming together to support Inspire.
The team climbed Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) in 24 hours, supported by four volunteer drivers who spent more than 28 hours on the road helping them safely travel between each mountain.
Organised by Joe’s sister, Victoria the challenge marked five years since Joe’s passing and continued a remarkable run of fundraising for Inspire. In 2023 Joe’s close friend Ali Clements cycled 925 miles from John O’Groats to Land’s End in Joe’s memory, also raising funds for the charity.
Joe’s family chose to support Inspire because they wanted Joe’s memory to help other young people across Suffolk. This latest challenge is another example of that ongoing commitment.
Looking back on the weekend, Victoria said:
“Completing the National Three Peaks challenge, was so much more than I imagined it would be. I still don’t think I have come down of the adrenaline high. I’m absolutely buzzing.
I am so proud of the incredible team. Showing up for each other on the brutal bits, (Snowdon descent felt about 3 weeks long) and we got every single person up and down, despite a few injuries.
It was such a special weekend spent alongside an amazing group of people, brought together by the love we share for my big brother, Joe.
His absence has left a hole in so many lives. The incredible turnout for this challenge, and the generosity of everyone who has donated, is a true reflection of the man that he was”

In completing the three peaks, the group will help us continue supporting young people across Suffolk.
