This weekend was our fourth Strictly Charity fundraising event at Trinity Park, which raised over £10,000 for our charity! We are absolutely over the moon with the amount raised and cannot thank everyone enough!
Ten volunteer dancers who have little or no previous dance experience have been training for the past ten weeks with support from teachers and semi-professionals from Ipswich School of Dancing. Each couple who have been fundraising for the past ten weeks, performed one latin and one ballroom dance routine to a crowd of friends, family and our supporters.
The fundraising event, sponsored by MemSec EPoS, was to boost our work with young people supporting them onto a positive future and to overcome several challenges onto the next steps in their lives in work, education, and training. We rely solely on our supporters, fundraising and grants and so, we are astounded by the support received, which is more than Strictly has ever previously made!
We even had a touch of Strictly Come Dancing with Katya Jones from the BBC hosting the event as the head judge, accompanied by Sarah Wagstaff Till from Ipswich School of Dancing and professional dancer Accursio Romeo.
Crystal Barber, Fundraising & Events Officer at Inspire says:
“We are overwhelmed with the support we have received for our Strictly Charity event once again, thank you to everyone who has helped to make it such a success! We would like to thank our extremely dedicated volunteer dancers and Ipswich School of Dancing for all the hard work that has been put in over the past ten weeks – we couldn’t have raised our fantastic total without you! Until next year Strictly Charity!”
Emma Hawley from Ipswich School of Dancing says “We are delighted to have once again put on this fabulous event with Inspire. It’s going from strength to strength each year. We are extremely proud of what our dancers have achieved along with their partners in this short time. There has been so much enthusiasm, fun and new friendships made and all while raising funds for a very worthwhile cause. Thank you everyone, we can’t wait for our 2018 event!”
We cannot wait for 2018!! Keeeeeeep dancing everyone!
