Field Funday Delivers Unforgettable Experience and Raises over £3,500

14 June 2023

The sun was shining and the music was pumping, as the local community came together for our the second-ever Field Funday. The event provided an unforgettable experience while supporting our mission of empowering young people and creating pathways to brighter futures by raising over £3,500.

The day included an impressive line-up of entertainment and activities, with one of the highlights being the generosity of the Rapid Relief Team, who provided 1000 BBQ meals, all free of charge to attendees. In the face of a cost-of-living crisis, the free-to-enter event was an affordable family day out for many of local families who wanted some fun in the sun.

Live acts, including local legends Harry Martin, Ruby Ambrose, and Adam Thomas, rocked the stage, keeping the crowd entertained. Their energy and performances provided the perfect soundtrack to the day, under the watchful eye of Rev. Ian from Lindbergh Community Church on the AV. GMA Transport also played a crucial role, elevating the acts to new heights on one of their curtain side trailers which was used as a main stage.

Sara Warburton, Events & Fundraising Manager at Inspire, said, “Field Funday is more than just a one-day celebration; it’s an opportunity to open the doors of our charity to the local community and showcase our youth support services. It was a great to reaffirm our commitment to empowering young people and creating a positive impact on the surrounding area.”

The event’s success was further bolstered by the generous £1,500 donation from Plymouth Brethren Christian Church. This contribution will help drive our charity’s work forward, enabling us to provide young people with access to transformative programmes and support aimed at helping them dream bigger and realise their true potential.

Field Funday also featured a range of Inspire stalls, offering exciting activities such as a penalty shootout with holiday club coaches, an escape the maze game with youth development staff, and the opportunity to explore the Porch Project mobile youth centre van.
