Ethan’s Story

Ethan was referred to Matt and they began their sessions by focusing on confidence building. Ethan needed support to rebuild his self-belief before he could start exploring his next steps. Once he began to feel more positive, Matt introduced strategies around employment planning, setting achievable targets, and identifying suitable job opportunities that did not involve driving.
Over the following sessions, Ethan applied for several positions within sales and logistics. Together, they also explored the possibility of him completing an SIA course. However, due to the pressures of moving from a full-time role, selling his car, and needing a steady income, Ethan’s main priority was securing another full-time position as quickly as possible.
To strengthen his applications, Matt supported Ethan on improving his CV, ensuring it was fully aligned to his skills and the roles he was targeting. Within two months, Ethan began receiving interview invitations. He successfully secured two interviews – one for a logistics company within their customs division and another for a warehouse position.
Ahead of these interviews, Matt and Ethan practiced interview techniques to prepare Ethan and boost his confidence further. He performed exceptionally well at both, resulting in job offers for each position.
After discussions with both his family and Matt, Ethan decided to accept the logistics role. This choice was influenced by his personal interest in the sector and the fact that his grandfather has long worked in the same industry, giving him a sense of connection and inspiration.
Ethan has has now been working for three weeks and is doing amazingly well. He has already been asked to start his in-house team leader training so he can progress even further.
