Head of Facilities & Operations

  • Permanent
  • (working hours to be between 30 -37.5 hours a week with a minimum of four days)
  • £31,614 - £44,433 (FTE)

Could you shape the future of our buildings, venues and operational services while helping to create safe, welcoming spaces where young people and communities can thrive?

Inspire is looking for an experienced and commercially aware Head of Facilities & Operations to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is an influential role for someone who can combine strategic thinking with confident, practical operational leadership.

You will lead the development of our buildings and facilities strategy, ensuring our centres are safe, compliant, welcoming and financially sustainable. You will oversee health and safety, building compliance, maintenance, security, business continuity, budgets, suppliers and venue operations across multiple sites.

A key part of the role will be identifying opportunities to increase sustainable income from venue hire and the wider use of our spaces. You will balance commercial opportunity with Inspire’s charitable purpose, ensuring our venues continue to meet the needs of young people, staff, partners and local communities.

You will also lead and develop our operations, bookings, sales and facilities teams, creating clear accountability, consistent standards and flexible arrangements that respond effectively to daytime, evening and weekend demand.

We are looking for someone who can:

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple sites
• Develop a long-term buildings, maintenance and investment strategy
• Maintain strong oversight of health and safety, compliance and risk
• Grow venue hire and other appropriate income opportunities
• Lead and develop managers, permanent employees and sessional teams
• Manage budgets, contracts, suppliers and operational performance
• Use evidence and performance information to support effective decisions
• Move confidently between strategic planning and hands-on operational delivery
• Build strong relationships with colleagues, contractors, partners and local communities
• Champion safeguarding, inclusion and Inspire’s values

You may already be working in facilities, estates, venue management, operations, community buildings or another public-facing, multi-site environment. Sector experience is less important than your ability to provide effective leadership, build capable teams and turn strategic priorities into practical results. This role offers flexibility to respond to organisational priorities and may occasionally require evening and weekend working.
