We are seeking an Electrical Maintenance Apprentice to join the Company.

The role will require you to learn key Maintenance skills, to allow you to assist the Maintenance department in maintaining equipment and the facilities of the site. Working alongside skilled employees, our apprentices gain a wealth of knowledge and job-specific skills.

What you will do in your working day

The company is continuing to develop their apprenticeship programme and are looking to recruit an apprentice for the Maintenance Dept to work closely and develop skills within the Maintenance Team.

The role will include learning and understanding the following:

  • Ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with all Company, Textron, and EH&S regulations and legislation.
  • Fault finding as an individual and as part of a team.
  • Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic & electrical components.
  • Installation and connection of services.
  • Carry out routine and reactive mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks on equipment and facilities.
  • Carry out PPM/TPM activities.
  • Update maintenance records on the CMMS.

The training you will be getting

  • The apprentice will be working towards the Level 3 Installation and Maintenance Electrician Apprenticeship Standard.
  • College attendance will be at the Colchester Institute – Colchester Campus one day per week during term time.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Students will be expected to complete a minimum of three to five years training achieving Level 3 qualification.
  • Successful completion of the apprenticeship could lead to a permanent role within the Facilities Department.
