Field Funday brings together community for our biggest event yet

13 June 2022

Packed with bouncy castles, live music, and summer vibes, the event drew crowds of families, raising over £2,000 to help Suffolk’s youngsters dream bigger.

Hosted at Inspire’s Lindbergh Road HQ, families joined us to kick off their summer with everything from face painting to delicious BBQ food from the Rapid Relief Team.

The one-day event also boasted live music from some of the very best local acts, with Adam Thomas, Roma, Breeze Redwine with Liam Hayes, Ruby Ambrose and Unit 820 gracing the stage under the watchful eye of Rev. Ian from Lindbergh Road Community Church, who provided the AV.

Adam Thomas explained that the event provided a great way to discover local artists, saying, “What a great opportunity to showcase the talent we have locally. It was great to perform on the grounds where it all started for me 15 years ago at Holywells High School!”

Many local organisations manned stalls, including Suffolk Police and Mr Bean Entertainment Balloon Modelling, who crafted hats that could be spotted throughout the crowd.

Community Fundraiser, Katiuska Torres-Watling, says that Inspire’s Field Funday was designed to bring families together and celebrate all the vibrant community we have in Suffolk.

“As a charity, we wanted to offer a free event for people of all ages to come and have a good time. There’s so much individuality in our local area, including some wonderful organisations, who make this town what it is, so we need to celebrate it.”

She continued, “We were thrilled that so many people turned out to show their support. Events like these really do help Inspire to continue to change young lives and help our students take the next step towards the future.”
